Andorra, situated between France and Spain, was granted independence by Charlemagne
in 806. An agreement between France and Spain in 1278 recognized it as an
autonomous co-principality. Became a sovereign nation with a constitution in 1993.
Andorra normally uses French and Spanish currencies, except during the Spanish
Civil War in 1936 when emergency notes were issued. Andorra now uses Euro. For a more detailed
country profile, see CIA World Factbook on Andorra.
