This note was cut in half and later taped back together.
It was a common security practice for people to send cash one half at a time.
The recipient would than rejoin the two halves together. The note was
crosshatch cancelled.

Ireland, located in the Atlantic Ocean west of Great Britain,
was an integral part of Great Britain from 1800 to 1921.
five-sixths of the island became the Irish Free State dominion in
1921, and a republic in 1949. The northern one-sixth of the
island, known as Northern Ireland, remains part of Great
