Montenegro, located in southeastern Europe north of Albania, joined with Serbia, Croats, and Slovenes to become Yugoslavia in 1918. When others seceded from Yugoslavia, Montenegro together with Serbia formed the Federation of Serb and Montenegro in 2003.
